To hold this credential, participants must demonstrate an understanding of the planning process and the ability to define the scope of plans and strategies.

They should be familiar with the tools and techniques that support effective planning, as well as the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle.

Additionally, participants need to understand energy audits and carbon footprints, including how these assessments can be integrated into the planning cycle.

They must also be knowledgeable about the emissions reduction hierarchy: Avoid, Reduce, Switch, Offset.
